Griffon Microphones GMT-19a
Griffon Microphones GMT-19a
The Griffon Flagship GMT-19a Transistor microphone, with high performance transformer and High End electronic specifications. The GMT-19a is considered as the successor of the GMT-12, the electronic diagram (c12fet) and the Gk12 brass capsule which has made the reputation of the GMT-12 in recording studios around the world are exactly the same the new body is the wish to increase the exclusive image of griffon microphone and this differentiate it from the competition
Inspired by the golden age of microphone manufacturing with the right balance between warmth and precision. The GMT-19a is characterised by ease of mixing and put forward in the mix
The best choice for all studio application. Vocal, Drum, Piano, Guitar and much more
The GMT electronic circuit is powered by the + 48v phantom power supplied by your microphone preamplifier the voltage feeds the amplification of the microphone and the polarisation of the capsule (capacitor) the GMT has an exclusive passive circuit which allows the voltage + 48v to rise gradually in (3-4 minutes) this avoids slapping the transistor and the capsule and preserves the electronics from ignition stress. when you switch off your phantom power supply a ballast empties and prevents the capacitors from discharging their energy in the circuit, this avoids voltage peaks and once again preserves your microphone.
Give your microphone time to warm up 3-4 minutes before starting your recording.
The new body of the GMT-19A is inspired by the beautiful Russian microphone from the 1960s the Lomo 19a9 himself inspired by the Franco-Belge art deco movement of the 1920s. The body is entirely made in Europe from brass and aluminium.
The wooden box is made by a master carpenter When you buy a GMT-19A you are giving 3 families the opportunity to make a living from their work and to continue to develop new music production tools for you.
